USA star Christian Pulisic has glad to put his ‘complicated’ Chelsea career behind him following his £20million move to AC Milan.

The American star was hailed as the next big thing during his time with Borussia Dortmund – but it has not worked out for him at Stamford Bridge and he is now being linked with a move away.

The USA star scored 11 goals in his first season at the club but his contributions have gradually fallen away since then, with Pulisic starting just eight league games last term.

He has now joined Milan and has admitted that he is glad to put his ‘complicated’ Blues career behind him.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

The American winger said: “My last two seasons at CHELSEA were complicated, for many reasons.

“I didn’t fully show what I can do. Now, I want to start afresh at a big club.

“I spoke with Fikayo Tomori, Olivier Giroud and Ruben Loftus-Cheek and have an excellent relationship with them. With a player like Giroud, there will be an excellent understanding out on the pitch.”

Pulisic added: “I’m delighted to be here, and I’m excited and honoured. Everything truly is special at AC Milan.

“You can breathe in the history, and you just want to come here.

“The initial talks started when I was away on international duty and, although it took a bit of time to get the agreement sorted, I made the decision to accept early on.

“For me, it’s a new start. I also spoke to a few members of the ownership. AC Milan are really well supported in the US; ever since I was a kid, I can remember the passion for these colours there.”
