Welcome Pulisic, Hazard wil stay-Martinez, Sarri told to sign striker, Luiz wanted in Chelsea daily roundup

Its been another busy day in the world of football as we welcome Christian Pulisic to the club, so here are the latest transfer news and gossip from IcChelseanews.

Roberto Martinez has claimed Eden Hazard will stay at Chelsea, as he loves working with Maurizio Sarri.

Hazard has netted 12 goals this season for us and has been in sparkling form, but rather talk about the great football ne has been playing, he has been in the headlines for different reasons.

Hazard has been continually linked with Real Madrid after a move failed to materialise in the summer, and it is believed that he will leave at the end of the season if the club fails to get back into the Champions League.

But Martinez says he would not be surprised to see Hazard reject the chance to play for Madrid next summer.

“Eden Hazard will never let you down,” he said on the Daily Express website

“He honestly cares about the people around him. I don’t know if a new challenge would be good for him.

“He knows how much they love him at Chelsea. And there’s chemistry between Sarri and him.

“Eden enjoys himself at Chelsea. He has reached an exceptional level at that club.

“Then it’s uncertain if a new project would be good for him. I’m convinced that he can reinvent himself at Chelsea.”

Sky Sports pundit England International Sue Smith has claimed Maurizio Sarri is desperate to sign a striker for Chelsea this January.

Despite having the likes of Willian, Eden Hazard and Jorginho in midfield, the likes of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have struggled to find the net on a regular basis and Sarri has ultimately dropped both from the starting line-up and preferred winger Eden Hazard as his top man.

That has led to alot of speculation that Sarri could land a big named striker with the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Gonzalo Higuain, Mauro Icardi all linked with mega money moves to London.

Now Smith says it is about time Hazard was given some help on the scoring front.

“They have to [buy a striker],” she said on the Daily Express website

“I don’t think they ever really replaced [Diego] Costa.

“That big No 9 that the likes of Hazard and Pedro, Willian can play off.

“Morata did okay last season but he’s never really made it his own, swapping with Giroud.

“I know Hazard’s said he likes to play football with Giroud, like to play off him.

“They’ve even tried Hazard in that false nine and I think they’re too over-reliant on him for goals.

“So I think they have to out and look for a striker.

“But who would they go for?”

Christian Pulisic has admitted he is looking forward to officially signing for Chelsea at the end of the season.

The 20-year old American is regarded as one of the finest talents in the game, and has been an integral figure for Dortmund over the seasons, making 114 appearances for the German side.

But Dortmund decided there were ready to let the American leave and sign for us in a deal which will cost the club £56.7 million which will mean he stays at the Bundesliga giants until the end of the season before he officially makes his way to the Premier League.

He told Sky Sports: “In summer of 2019, I move on to Chelsea and to a new competition, the English Premier League.

“It’s a privilege to have signed for such a legendary club and I look forward to working hard towards being a contributor to their team of world class players.

“[I’m] looking forward to working with Maurizio Sarri and his technical team. But for six months, it’s all BVB!

“Please do not doubt my passion, determination and my 110 per cent commitment to the team right until the last ball is kicked this season.”

Willian believes Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri wants to keep defender David Luiz, who has been linked with a move away from the club.

Luiz has become an integral part of the side this season and has shown glimpses of the quality he possesses at the back, but despite his start under Maurizio Sarri, there has been some speculation that he could depart at the end of the season for nothing with his contract expiring.

There has been some talk about out policy for players over the age of thirty, and although we don not fully agree on it, it has proven to be a huge success for us over the last few seasons.

However, Willian lauded the quality of his compatriot Luiz and has claimed Sarri has spoken of his desire to keep hold of the Brazilian defender.

“We have to see if the club will want him,” Willian said on the Sky Sports website.

“I think they want (him). For me, I want him to stay.

“David has a lot of quality to do these kind of passes.”
