Frank on Benrahma talks, Pulisic wants trophy, Lamps staying tight lipped, Ziyech message sent in icchelseanews roundup….
Thomas Frank has poured cold water on speculation that Chelsea have opened talks with star Brentford player Said Benrahma.
There has been some big reports in the media over the past few days which have claimed that we are interested in signing the impressing winger when the transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time.
But after reports emerged suggesting that we were already negotiating terms with the player’s representatives ahead of making a formal bid, Brentford boss Thomas Frank – dismissed the link as “rumour”.
He said on the SUN: “I haven’t heard anything from my co-directors of sport.
“I don’t know anything and if I haven’t been told anything then I don’t think it’s true. It’s a rumour.
“He’s enjoying his football at Brentford and we’ve a big aim to go for so I think it’s easy to know this isn’t true.”
Frank Lampard says Hakim Ziyech has settled in ‘very well’ at Chelsea so far since his arrival to the club just a few days ago.
Ziyech is easily regarded as one of the finest wingers in the game and has made a real name for himself with Ajax over the past few seasons, but he has decided that a move to the Premier League will help take his game to that next level.
He is expected to come into this side and make the club more attacking, add a few more goals and assists to a side that is looking to get back into the habit of winning the Premier League title and competing for that Champions League crown.
He has been mostly training in his own, as this season is not over with yet, but has had the odd session with the first-team, and now Lampard has come out and admitted that the winger is settling into the club very well.
He told the official website: “Yeah Hakim has been here for the week, trained a couple of days on his own and then he’s integrated a bit with the team.
“So, [he’s settled in] very well. The lads have welcomed him very well. He’s settled in, chatting and forming those new relationships in the early stages.
“And more importantly for him, he’s getting himself fit. Nice to take a bit part in training and then also get some physical work because he hasn’t trained or played for quite a while.”

We may be heading for a top four finish this season after a stunning last few weeks, but there is still a chance that Frank Lampard may be able to land his first trophy a manager by the end of the Campaign.
Weface United for the right to be in the final in just a few weeks time, And ahead of the big game, The 21-year-old said in the Evening Standard : “At Chelsea we want to win.
“This is a huge trophy. He has told us what it means to him and the club. Even though fans are not going to be there, the guys understand what it means. There is not the background noise but the circumstances are the same, you want to go out there and win.
“It would be amazing to win the FA Cup. All the guys are on the same page. When I was [younger] I would see a lot of Premier League games, but I saw a few FA Cup finals here and there and I saw what this competition means to this country. It is a big trophy and I am excited that we have the opportunity to win it.
“It has been a tough season, obviously, with a lot of ups and downs, but we are going in confident, and finishing with a trophy is always the best way to end the season.”
Frank Lampard is remaining tight-lipped about continued spending this summer at Chelsea following links to Jan Oblak.
We all know that we are seeking to build a side that is capable of challenging for that Premier League and Champions league title next season, and Frank Lampard has already acquired the signings of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.
And another area of the pitch that we are expected to improve on in the transfer window is that of goalkeeper, as Kepa has not been that impressive this season and is heavily tipped to be replaced, with Oblak the number one target.
Regarded as one of the finest stoppers in the game right now, Madridrecently came out and admitted that we are interested in opening talks with the £120 million rated La Liga star, who could be open to a fresh challenge next season.
However, admid all the transfer speculation linking the club to a possible move for Oblak, Lampard is remaining tight-lipped about continued spending this summer, he told the Sky Sports website: “We’ll see, I can’t answer that one we’re not there yet.
“We’ll have to focus on what’s in front of us.
“I wouldn’t want to compare it to any other spending summer or not.
“We’ll see how I feel and we feel as a club.
“If the squad needs strengthening or the balancing needs changing, if it does and we make moves great, but at the moment we don’t know.”
There is alot of speculation about the players that could arrive in the summer, but Oblak is a player that would be more than welcome.
