President’s statement mean Chelsea close in on £59M deal
Sevilla’s president has confirmed that the Spanish club need to sell players and raise funds this summer -with reports Chelsea are keen on Jules Kounde
It is no secret that Chelsea will have some serious issues in the coming months – as both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are intending to leave the club for Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
That will mean that Tuchel will be short at the back for the start of next summer – leading to many reports in the media that Kounde is the man that the club most want to sign in the transfer window.
Sevilla are believed to have lowered their asking price for Kounde to around £59m, but it is already believed that the talented defender already has a verbal agreement to make the move to Stamford Bridge
Kounde is the club’s most sellable asset and now Sevilla president Jose Castro has confirmed that there are likely to be some significant departures this summer – which suggests that the Frenchman is on his way to the Premier League giants
‘It hasn’t gone unnoticed that in recent summers we haven’t sold [players],’ he told Mundo Deportivo.
‘In January, in addition to having offers and not selling, we brought in Tecatito [Jesus Corona] and [Antony] Martial.
‘We need to align our accounts. We know how to do it well and that when there are exits, players that will perform in the future for us both economically and on the pitch will arrive.’

it is very sad news when one of the biggest clubs in Spain are being forced to sell their players – but Kounde is one that needs to make that next step in his career – and honestly – he would be a brilliant signing
