President opens up and reveals if 23-goals star will make January move to Chelsea
Sporting president Varandas has been speaking on the future of CHELSEA target Victor Gyokeres, and revealed whether the Sporting Lisbon forward will depart the club when the January transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time
This season, he has already scored 23 goals in just 17 appearances, recently bagging a hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League and continuing to make a real name for himself at the Portuguese giants.
CHELSEA are just one of the clubs that are reportedly ready to splash the cash and bring the in-demand striker to the Premier League, and it is looking much more likely that a transfer happens after the departure of Ruben Amorim.
Amorim’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya revealed in the summer that Gyokeres was only at Sporting because of Amorim, and there has been some suggestions that the striker may be open to the idea of leaving Sporting when the transfer window opens up in January.
But now Varandas has been speaking on the future of target and is hoping that Gyokeres does not leave, on the striker he said: “I can’t promise anything. If a club arrives and pays the release clause, if he wants to go… he will go”. “But I do NOT think this will happen in January”, he added

Gyokeres is a quality player that we would love to see get signed, but the January window will not see him make a move, it could be a mistake for the man.
But as i just said, i would love to see the striker here.
