Chelsea are considering a move for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as a possible replacement for Edouard Mendy

The Senegal international has impressed in the Blues net since his arrival from Rennes in 2020 and has established himself as one of the best stoppers in world football.

However – his place in the first-team as come under threat this season – as he was sidelined with a knee injury when Graham Potter arrived at Stamford Bridge in September with Kepa Arrizabalaga coming back into the fold as a result, impressing with a string of much improved performances.

He is still considered to be the number one at Stamford Bridge– but with Kepa working his way back into the squad and all the speculation and all the speculation that the Senegal star is considering his future – there has been a shock name linked with a move

The Sun reports that Chelsea also have a watchful eye on Pickford and will be scouting him at the World Cup with England as they consider a move for the 28-year-old.

The Everton ‘keeper has won 45 caps for his country and has been first choice for Gareth Southgate for years.

Pickford has been a reliable performer for Southgate since making his international debut in November 2017, but his club form has been less reliable, and has made a number of high-profile mistakes this season.
