Pochettino speaks on the imminent Chelsea signing of French powerhouse
CHELSEA boss Mauricio Pochettino has been asked about the potential signing of centre-back Axel Disasi.
The club have done some great transfer business this summer and added some very good attacking players – but Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add a full-back to the side after the injury to Wesley Fofana and the departure of Cesare Azpilicueta.
That has led to so much speculation about who the Blues could sign this transfer window – but now it seems that we are about to complete another summer signing.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
The Athletic reports that the club now look like his next port of call after the board agreed a £38m fee for the right-sided central defender.
Having previously been capped at Under-20 level, he became the first Frenchman to make his debut at a World Cup since 1966 when he featured in the 1-0 group-stage loss to Tunisia in Qatar
Pochettino wants Disasi has back-up following another injury blow to Wesley Fofana.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
He said: “With Fofana’s injury, I think it is obvious that maybe we need to reinforce this area.”
Pochettino added: “I don’t know [about more new signings] because if I say numbers I can create a problem.
“For me, it’s important the club is working really hard to improve all of the areas – the right profiles to make the squad strong.”
WILL HE BE A GOOD SIGNING?
The man has all the potential and tools to be a massive player for us – so if he is able to adapt to the Premier League – then yes he will be a very good signing for the club.
