Pochettino would love’ Chelsea to sign £60M goal-machine

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino would love to sign Lautaro Martínez on top of Nicolas Jackson this summer window.

Mauricio Pochettino knows that he has a club that needs to sign a striker this transfer window – somebody who will be able to bang in the goals on a regular basis.

Add that to the rumours that Kai Havertz – who led the attack last season – is leaving the club for a move across London – Pochettino needs to improve that front-line over the next couple of months.

The 21-year-old was close to joining Bournemouth in January, but a hamstring injury scuppered the move, and now he has managed to secure a move to Stamford Bridge.

The club have agreed to pay the £34 million asking fee for Jackson – and he has already agreed personal terms – and passed his medical – so he is coming to the Premier League

Now – Journalist Paul Brown has suggested that the club and Pochettino could move for another No.9 like Martínez after they land Jackson.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “I think if Chelsea manage to generate enough money from sales, they will try and sign another striker. With [Christopher] Nkunku coming in, I think a lot of people thought he might be the striker, but I don’t really feel that he’s a striker.

“So it will be interesting because that would be potentially three new forwards and a whole new look to the frontline at Chelsea if they were to go for another striker after Jackson.

‘But I think ideally Pochettino would love to have a proven guy like Lautaro come in.”
