‘Pochettino tole me he wanted me’ at Chelsea – Spanish star says
Kepa Arrizabalaga claims Mauricio Pochettino wanted him to stay at CHELSEA before his loan move to Real Madrid.
After the Spanish giants revealed that current number one Thibaut Courtois will be out of action for most of the season, the decision was made to sign Kepa on loan for the season.
the Spanish star has never really hit the heights that many had hoped for, but he has won the Champions League, Premier League and a number of other cups during his stay at Stamford Bridge.
Now he has opened up and Speaking to Marca, has revealed that Pochettino wanted him to stay at the club over the summer window and not depart for the Spaniards.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
‘Yes, it was very fast,’ Kepa said in an interview with Marca about his move to Madrid.
‘It is true that at CHELSEA Pochettino wanted me to stay and he told me that I was going to play, that he trusted me, but I thought that a change would be good for me. I wanted a change.
‘Thomas Tuchel also called me and I was close to going to Bayern Munich. Due to circumstances such as the injury, unfortunately, of a teammate, the possibility arose.’

This is a great move for Kepa as he loves La Liga and to play for one of the biggest sides in the world – great move.
It will be interesting to see what happens when Courtois returns to the side from injury, as he is the number one and one of the best in the game, will Kepa still be happy about sitting on the bench every week?
