Mauricio Pochettino has also been addressing the media about possibly signing a new striker for CHELSEA FC this transfer window.

Fans all know that the board have really struggled in front of goal this season and it has not been any secret that signing a new striker has been on the agenda of boss Mauricio Pochettino.

However – the transfer window has not brought the type of business that many people had hoped for and we have struggled to make any serious offers for their top transfer targets – which has meant that they have had to change tactics.

The likes of Callum Wilson have been linked with a move over the past few days after it emerged that the Toon may have to start selling their top stars in order to help finance the books.

But amid the speculation – The Argentine had this to say when asked about potentially signing a new striker before the deadline amid those latest links to the likes of Callum Wilson and Jhon Duran.

“I think there are too many rumours, players in, players out,” Pochettino said.

“At the moment, there’s nothing to say. We work really hard about different things in different areas.

“But I think at the moment, there is nothing to communicate. We will communicate if something happens in the next few days.”

Pressed on if he was desperate to make new signings, Pochettino added: “No, not really. Desperate to win the title but not to sign players.

“I am happy with the squad, I am so happy with the players we have.

“Of course if something happens – because you know very well that the last week is the most action week – and we need to be ready if something happens to the squad.”
