Higuain wants move-Gattuso, Sarri wants midfielder, Agent confirms Pereyra interest in Chelsea Daily roundup
Here is the daily news, gossip and transfer speculation from the world of IcChelseanews.
AC MIlan boss Grennaro Gattuso has admitetd Chelsea target Gonzalo Higuain wants to leave the club.
Boss Maurizio Sarri desperate to add a world class striker to his front-line, there has been alot of speculation in the media which have suggested that Higuain is the man the Italian wants.
Sarri knows he needs to add a striker to the squad if we are to get back into the Champions League and mount a serious challenge for some silverware this season.
[the_ad id=”164″]Higuain had his most successful season under Sarri, breaking the Serie A goalscoring record with 36 goals in the 2015/16 campaign, and is reportedly keen to link-up with his former coach.
Gattuso was quoted on the Sky Sports website: “When a player makes up his mind it becomes hard to convince them otherwise.
“I have a relationship with him that features great honesty, we say things to one another’s face.
“At the moment, he’s our player and we’re holding on tightly to him. I don’t know what will happen.
“It’s his mind, not mine. The most important thing is to talk as men, look each other in the eyes and speak the truth.
“I still don’t understand what Higuain’s unhappy about because I see a happy lad, involved in the locker room.
“We’ll see what happens. If it was up to me, I’d keep him at my house and feed him my dinner.”
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has announced he wants a replacement for Cesc Fabregas, with reports we are keen to sign up Nicolo Barella from Cagliari.
Fabregas finally ended months of speculation by deciding to leave the club this month and link-up with former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry at Monaco.
And with his departure, Sarri has admitted that he is a bit short in midfield and needs to acquire a replacement for the Spaniard, with reports we want Cagliari star Barella for weeks now, with some reports even suggesting that talks between the two clubs have been progressing very well
It is believed the stumbling block has been the price of the Cagliari star, with the Italians demanding close to £45 million, a fee Chelsea are keen to stie down.
Sarri said after the 2-1 win at Newcastle this weekend: “Today Jorginho was in trouble and on the bench there wasn’t a player for that position so I need a player for that position.
“The club knows very well my opinion. I need a player there so it depends on the club’s decision.
“I cannot do any more.”
The agent of Roberto Pereyra claims Maurizio Sarri and wants to bring him to Chelsea in the January transfer window.
It is no secret that we are looking to do a number of transfer deals over the course of the next few weeks, as Sarri has told the clubs hierarchy that he wants to sign at least two players.
The Italian knows where he needs to improve and with all the speculation surrounding the likes of Willian, Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata over the past few months, another attacker is reportedly on the shopping list.
And Pereyra, who has enjoyed an excellent season for the Hornets so far, netting six times in the Premier League, has been mentioned on a few occasions over the past few months.
[the_ad id=”164″]Now his agent has claimed that Sarri is keen to take him to Stamford Bridge this month, Sergio Furlan told TuttoSport: ‘Do we like an Italian technician? Easy: Walter Mazzarri. But I could also say Sarri.
‘A transfer in January? In the market you can never say never, but I tend to exclude it almost always.
‘Maxi does not want to leave his team in such a delicate moment, he is focused on Watford, and the club does not want to sell it in the middle of the championship.
‘In these weeks Chelsea have tried for him, it is true, but also without finding a breach.
‘Maxi is a pure ball of Sarri, even if he has never coached him. I talked about it repeatedly with [Napoli president] De Laurentiis.
‘It seemed like it was done, but then the Higuain-Juve operation blew up everything, suddenly.’
