Manchester City striker and CHELSEA target Julian Alvarez has had his boss Pep Guardiola talking about the striker amid speculation he wants to leave.

Despite being a big part of that Man City side – it has been claimed that Alvarez wants more game time at the club and would be open to a move away if Pep Guardiola cannot give him what he wants.

Now Guardiola has provided an update on Julian Alvarez’s future at Manchester City. Speaking to reporters, as quoted by the club’s official website, the Spaniard said: “I don’t think about replacing. I knew he said he will think about it.

“Once he has finished thinking, his agent will call Txiki [Begiristain] and we will see what happens. I know he wants to play in important moments, but the other players [want that] too.

“We have 18 or 19 players who want to play in the important games. I read he has to think about it, so okay think about it and after that he will inform us what he wants to do.”

The Argentina international says he will make a decision on his club future once the Olympics are over.

He said: “Last season, I was one of the City players with the most minutes on the team. But it’s true; in the end, you don’t like being left out of important matches. You want to contribute.

“I haven’t stopped to think clearly about what I’m going to do.

“When the Olympics is over I’ll take my time to think about what I want for myself. We’ll see what comes next.”
