Chelsea announcement made – Statement confirms latest summer move
CHELSEA goalkeeper Mike Penders has joined Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg on a season-long loan, the Blues have now officially confirmed on the club website.
The Blues posted: Signed by the Blues from Genk in August 2024, Penders spent the remainder of last season with the Belgian club, making 26 first-team appearances. He also received a call up to Belgium’s Under-21 squad.The 19-year-old joined up with the Blues ahead of the Club World Cup and was part of our squad that went on to lift the trophy Stateside.

CHELSEA fans are surely wondering what the hell is going on because there has been no point in the Blues signing all these young talents, loaning them out for the next few seasons and not really making any money.
Penders is one for the future but already carries a stellar reputation, even drawing comparisons to former Chelsea ‘keeper Thibaut Courtois, so it is a shame that he will be sent out on loan once again as he cannot get a chance at the club.
He has a long future, but as we said, we dont like to see such talents sent out on loan without really getting a chance to show why the club signed them in the first place.
Strasbourg is a good move for the lad, but we would have wanted him to stay this season,
