Chelsea backed to sign £80m winger as stunning Hazard claim made
Chelsea could sign Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha to replace Eden Hazard, pundit Andy Gray claims.
Hazard may be having one of the best seasons during his time at Stamford Bridge, but all the headlines in the media have been dominated by whether or not he will be at the club for next season.
And recent reports have suggested that the Spanish side are said to be confident of completing a deal for the Belgium international in a deal worth around £100 million, and Gray reckons Crystal Palace’s Zaha could be the man who fills the void , with the winger becoming one of the most creative and gifted wingers in the Premier League since his return back to the club.
[the_ad id=”164″]Zaha even recently admitted that he is now interested in playing Champions League football.
“Well they might buy Wilfried Zaha, somebody was suggesting to me,” Gray said.
“Maybe it [replacement for Hazard] is just the other side of London.”
Meanwhile, Stuart Pearce has claimed that he is worried that we would be unable to cope without Hazard.
Hazard, who has a little over a year left on his contract, is very likely to leave Stamford Bridge this summer and sign for Spanish giants Real Madrid in a deal worth around £100 million.
He is a wanted man by Zinedine Zidane, who reportedly believes that the Belgian could be the ideal man to come in and finally fill the void which has been left by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Hazard has enjoyed the best season of his spell at Chelsea, with sixteen goals and 13 assists for the Blues this year, but Pearce wonders how the London club will cope without their talisman.
“I would worry about Chelsea’s chances of getting hold of the Premier League without Hazard,” he said on the TalkSport website.
“I’m astounded he didn’t make the PFA Team of the Year. If it was me I would have swapped Pogba out and put Hazard in to get him into the team.
