Coach Pearce opens up and sends direct Rice transfer message to chasing Chelsea
West Ham will reject any offers for Declan Rice this summer, first-team coach Stuart Pearce has told the likes of Chelsea.
With Frank Lampard looking to build a side that is more than capable of challenging for that Premier League title next season, Roman Abramovic has backed the club legend financially in the players that he wants to bring to the club.
But one player that has been constantly linked with a move to the Bridge, but do deal has been done, is that of Rice, the Hammers defender that is regarded very highly in the Premier League.
However, despite all the rumours that he would be the next layer to arrive at Stamford Bridge during this transfer window, Pearce has come out and told us that all offers for their star man will be rejected by the club.
Pearce told TalkSport: “Of course we are, don’t be so ridiculous… He’s one of our best players!
“We might even have a nibble at Messi, put that in your headline why don’t ya!”
Look, at the end of the day, if we do come calling for the lad and he is tempted by that move away from West Ham, the Hammers will not be able to do too much in terms of keeping hold of the midfielder if he wants to leave.
A move here would be the big move that he needs to make in order to reach the very top of the game, and that is why he would come if we make an offer.
