Chairman confirms interest in getting £40M Chelsea deal
Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish gushed over Chelsea loan star Conor Gallagher and admitted that he is hoping the midfielder stays
The 22-year-old has made 36 appearances for Palace, scoring eight goals and grabbing five assists in a season which has shown the Premier League just how talented the young man is.
Gallagher’s loan will end at the end of the season and he will make a move back to Chelsea – if they can assure him that he will be given the chance in the first team – and if there is actually a place in the squad.
However, Crystal Palace want to secure the permanent signing of the talented star in the transfer window – According to talkSPORT – as they believe that they could buold a very good team around him
Gallagher was named as Palace’s 2021/2022 player of the season on Tuesday – and Parish could not help but gush over the exciting midfielder and hint that he is keen to open talks with the club about a possible deal.
Parish said: “We would love to have Conor Gallagher back, I am not going to pretend that is not the case.
“Conor will make his own choices of course, and the club will have something to say about it, but we have enjoyed every minute of having him here this year.
“So if that is all we get of him, and I hope not, he has been a fantastic asset to the club as a player, and as a person as well”

Gallagher is a brilliantly gifted player that has all the potential – all the ability and all the ‘star factor’ that will take him far in the game
So if we cannot sit him down and confirm that he will be given a chance in the side next season – then he should look to stay at Palace – they are a very good side and he is developing nicely
