Opinion – Sorry Frank but its time for Chelsea to bring in world class Italian coach?
It is time for Chelsea to surely think about appointing Max Allegri as there new boss to replace Mikel Arteta?
Lampard was handed some serious money in the summer transfer window to turn this side into real title contenders, but despite spending over £200 million, Lampard has seen side fall seven points behind leaders Liverpool in the Premier League after the 3-1 loss to Manchester City at the weekend..
Allegri is a world class boss that has the tactical ability to compete with the very best, he has won countless trophies and has the experience to get the very best out of the players that he usually works with, he will definitely be a world class signing.
He won five consecutive Serie A titles in Turin, adding to the singular Scudetto he won at Milan in 2011 – the last time a team other than Juventus won the Italian top flight, but he opted to leave the Italians and seek a fresh challenge in the game.
Allegri is also improving his English language skills and looking for his next job. and has opened the door for the club to swoop in and make an offer, should they believe that Lampard is not the man to guide the club back to the top of the game
“I would like to experience the Premier League,” he told The Times. “In Italy, I was in Milan for four years. Five years in Juventus. Now I expect (to work again) in Italy, but it is difficult, or in England.”
“For me, English football is improving now because there are a lot of foreign trainers. There are more tactics compared to ten years ago. England now is more sophisticated, and more tactical, but is also respecting the tradition of English football.
“It’s a good balance of the spirit of English football and the new quality and new tactical approach of the new coaches.
“The important thing is every country has its own history. England is different from Italy, which is different from Spain, from Germany. It’s difficult to change the history of the country.”
“Every year they improve the team. Liverpool have players who are very fast, technical, are physically stronger, and they have character.
“To win trophies, we need to have character, the technical, the tactical, and the physical. And all Liverpool players work very hard, every match. Liverpool have the right mentality.
“At Tottenham, [Jose] Mourinho has the balance with the pragmatic and the technical. Because Tottenham are a big team, with big players, and Mourinho is about the strategic. The trainer must respect the quality of his players. Mourinho understands his players. He’s doing a great job at Tottenham.
“Manchester City don’t have a big history like United, so [Pep] Guardiola can work with a ‘virgin’ club and has the possibility to work his own way.”
We love Lampard, but the squad that we have, we should not be so far off the title
