Complete Lozano deal, Sarri has Hudson-Odoi message, Koulibaly transfer update in Chelsea Daily Roundup
Here is the daily roundup of Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from IcChelseanews.com
Journalist Dominic Fifield has claimed Hirving Lozano is just the type of player that Chelsea need in the squad right now.
Despite having some of the best creative players in the Premier League, there has been a lot of speculation in the media over the past few days which have all suggested that Maurizio Sarri is desperate to splash the cash and bring Mexican winger Lozano to the Premier League.
With speculation surrounding the long-term futures of Willian and Pedro, who are both over the age of thirty and coming towards the back-end of their careers, Sarri knows he needs to add a fresher, younger winger to the squad as possible long-term replacements for the duo.
Reports have claimed that we have submitted an offer for the star, believed to be around the £45 million mark and Fifield has claimed that Lozano is just the type of player that we need, as they need younger, fresher wingers.
[the_ad id=”164″]On the Football Writers podcast, Fifieid said “Lozano to Chelsea? Well they do need wingers, I mean Pedro and Willian, they’re in their 30s and contracts expire in 2020, I believe.
“(Callum) Hudson-Odoi is obviously 2020 as well and is likely to leave sooner rather than later.
. “But whether those guys are able to play the style that Sarri wants them to, no-one knows.”
Calcioland podcast host David Amoyal has told the likes of Chelsea Kalidou Koulibaly will stay at Napoli this transfer window.
Despite having one of the best attacks in Europe, Maurizio Sarri has seen a lot of criticism on the state of the back-line here at Stamford Bridge as many believe we do not have the quality to push on and win the Premier League with the defensive players we have.
David Luiz is in talks over a new deal, but there is no guarantee he will stay, while Antonio Rudiger is unreliable when it comes to the big games and that has led to a lot of speculation that we could make a massive move to try and secure the services of Koulibaly.
Koulibaly, regarded by many as one of the leading defenders in European football, is high up on the shopping list of Sarri, having worked with the dominant powerhouse during his days as Napoli manager and the Italian is reportedly desperate to be linked up with the 27-year old.
However, Napoli have stuck a crazy high price tag on Koulibaly, reportedly £108 million and that has put us off trying to secure a deal this month, as it is simply too much to spend right now.
And Amoyal doesn’t think Koulibaly will be leaving Naples anytime soon.
“Look, a lot can change in the summer, Koulibaly’s now right smack in the prime of his career,” he told The Calcioland podcast.
“I think in the summer, there’s probably no better time to sell, let’s see what happens.
“But I think in January there’s no formula that he’s gone and if I have to bet now, I bet he stays next season too.”
Maurizio Sarri says Callum Hudson-Odoi would be making the wrong decision if he chooses to make the move to Bayern Munich.
The talented 18-year old winger has become a top transfer target for the Bundesliga giants this season, with reports they have made three offers to take him to Germany, with the third, a £30 million offer which has been left on the table.
Reports have even suggested that Odoi is understood to be keen on a move to the Bundesliga, after seeing fellow Englishman Jadon Sancho adapt so quickly.
But Sarri has urged him to turn it down, as it would be a massive mistake for him to leave, he told the Sky Sports website: “I don’t think so, because he is an English player.
“He is very young, he has the future. He has a very great future here in England, with the national team and Chelsea. To stay here is better for him.”
“I am not in charge of these questions and I do not want to speak to a player about something that doesn’t depend on me.”
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has claimed Callum Hudson-Odoi is already at the same level as Willian and Pedro.
It has been reported Bayern have already seen two bids for Hudson-Odoi rejected by the Blues, with his future up in the air as his contract expires at the end of next season, and despite the fact we have rejected all their bids, the Bundesliga giants are not giving up and they intend to offer Hudson-Odoi the number 10 shirt should he quit Stamford Bridge.
Sarri, however, believes it will be better for Hudson-Odoi to remain at Chelsea as he believes that the winger is operating close to the level of Willian and Pedro.
[the_ad id=”164″]‘He is ready I think [to play in the bigger games],’ said Sarri on the Metro website.
‘Of course, we have very important players in the same position. I can play with only two wingers. But now he is ready.
‘Of course, some times he will be on the bench but the same as Willian and Pedro. I can start to consider him on the same level.’
