No way Jose! Chelsea are very interested in bring £70 million Gimenez to the Bridge

Chelsea are reportedly eyeing up a move for Atletico Madrid star Jose Gimenez.

The attack has been improved and so has the defence, but there is a worry that Thiago Silva will not be able to keep up his level of performances over the course of the season into next season, while Kurt Zouma and Antonio Rudiger are still not 100 per cent convincing.

That means that Lampard will be looking to add a new defender to the squad in the coming weeks, with Gimenez a player that has now appeared on the shopping list of the Blues coach.

Gimenez is fast becoming one of the most solid defenders in the game right now and is attracting all sorts of interest from the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and PSG for his very impressive performances in that Madrid shirt.

He has a very high price tag that we would have to meet and pay, roughly around the £70 million mark, and would need some convincing that a move to the Premier League would be the best option for him.

Look, we have added the right players to that squad that have impressed so far this season, but Gimenez is a player that is on another level and a player that would be a great partner for Silva, and then an immediate replacement for the Brazilian.

We would love to see that this rumour is true because Gimenez is the type of signing that would send a statement to the rest of the Premier League, that we mean real business.

Lets see if a move is made in the coming windows.
