CHELSEA have dropped their asking price for attacker Christopher Nkunku, who has been tipped to leave the Blues at some point over the next few weeks.

After a very busy of weeks bringing players to the club, the club are ready to let a number of players leave, with Nkunku on that list with many reports suggesting in the media that he was very open to leaving the club after all the signings that have been made.

The Blues paid £52million to sign the France striker from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 and would like to recoup as much of that as possible should they sell this summer. Manchester United and Bayern Munich have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old but it could be that Nkunku decides to stay in west London and fight for his place.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea had initially valued Nkunku at £65m at the start of the transfer window but the FIFA Club World Cup champions would now be ready to accept a £43m offer.

But if his social media is anything to go by, he’s still on the crest of a wave and has no plans to leave Chelsea – Posting on his official X account, Nkunku offered a little hint that his future may well be in west London. he posted a photo of himself holding the Club World Cup trophy with the words: “Still in the mood.”

That is clearly a note that he remains happy with that Club World Cup triumph, and could suggest that he wants to stay and fight for his place in the side.
