Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that we think you guys could have missed today –

Chelsea is pleased to confirm the signing of Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa, and he cannot wait to get started.

The 18-year-old has signed a six-year contract with the CLUB , which includes the option of a further year, and will join his new team-mates for pre-season next month.

Kellyman said: ‘It is fantastic to be standing here as a CHELSEA player. It’s a massive club with an amazing history, so it is great to join. It is a dream come true for sure. I’m buzzing to have put on the shirt and can’t wait to get started.’

‘Day-to-day, I just hope people don’t have a bad word to say about me and it is something that I think about quite consciously,’ he explains.

‘It comes from my family. My family are the type of people who always help people out and that is where it comes from.’

‘It is special to have my family here and it is a big thing for me, to be able to see their faces,’ says Omari. ‘People don’t get to do this often so it is a big driving factor personally.

‘The fact that I just want to make my family happy and proud has probably been my biggest driving factor and it gets me going every day,’ he adds.

‘Growing up, I remember my dad would be working two jobs and always on the go,’ Omari said. ‘I have obviously seen that if someone else can work that hard, then I can. That is something which rubbed off on me.’

‘I think one of my key characteristics is my confidence. The more confident I feel, the more successful I have been.

‘Whether that be coming into new environments and meeting new people or on a football pitch – showing people what I can do and what I am about – I think my confidence has helped me be more successful.’

CHELSEA have now confirmed that Hakim Ziyech has left the club on a permanent basis and joined Galatasaray.

Ziyech, 31, spent last season on loan with the Turkish team after a temporary deal with an obligation to make the move permanent was agreed. The Morocco international made 23 appearances across all competitions, scoring eight goals and assisting another four.

The club posted on the club website: ‘Hakim Ziyech has completed a permanent transfer to Galatasaray.

Ziyech initially joined the Turkish giants on loan last summer but has now departed Chelsea on a permanent basis.

The 31-year-old signed for Chelsea from Ajax in the summer of 2020 and went on to make 107 appearances. He scored 14 goals for the Blues and won the Champions League, UEFA Super Club and FIFA Club World Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge.

We thank Hakim for his efforts during his time at CHELSEA and wish him well as he begins the next chapter of his career.’

Ziyech will receive the same wages for that season if it kicks in. The move comes four years after Chelsea paid £33.4million to Ajax in the summer of 2020.

Ziyech has yet to comment on confirmation of the move but spoke out against the club in an interview with Voetbal International. “We had three teams there with top players. At a certain point, we run out of patience. A selection with 40 players for one team is simply far too much and is asking for problems.

“Pff, CHELSEA, we can talk about that for a long time. But the conclusion is that things did not turn out as we had hoped. It was a period full of coaching changes, nagging with the club management, a departure to Paris Saint-Germain that did not happen at the last minute and it was disappointing in terms of football.”

Aston Villa have announced the signing of Ian Maatsen from CHELSEA after a few weeks of speculation and rumours.

The club posted on the club website: ‘The 22-year-old was named in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season after helping Borussia Dortmund reach the final of the competition in 2023/24.

‘Maatsen, who is currently with the Netherlands at this summer’s European Championship in Germany, becomes Unai Emery’s second summer signing.

‘The highly-rated left-back enjoyed an impressive spell on loan with Dortmund over the second half of last season.

‘Maatsen registered 16 appearances in the Bundesliga and seven in the Champions League, finding the net in the club’s quarter-final triumph over Atletico Madrid’

CHELSEA posted on the club website: ‘Ian Maatsen has left Chelsea and completed a permanent transfer to Aston Villa.

The Dutchman has made the switch to the Midlands and ends his six-year Chelsea stay, which culminated in a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund during the second half of last season.

The versatile left-sided player joined our Academy from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2018 and made his senior debut for the Blues a year later, coming off the bench during a 7-1 League Cup win over Grimsby Town in September 2019.

Following successful Football League loans at Charlton Athletic, Coventry City and Burnley – the latter of whom he helped to the Championship title – Maatsen returned to Chelsea and was incorporated into the first-team squad ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The left-back made 15 appearances for the Blues before spending the second half of the season on loan at Dortmund, who he helped reach the Champions League final against Real Madrid last month.

Maatsen will now continue his career at Villa Park having agreed a permanent switch to Unai Emery’s side.

We thank Ian for all his efforts at Stamford Bridge and wish him well for the future.’
