RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann has petty much confirmed that Chelsea bound Timo Werner will be leaving the club in the summer.

Werner has been one of the most talked about players of the past few weeks, as all the major clubs are reportedly interested in trying to secure a transfer deal for the pacy little German star.

He has scored 75 goals in 122 matches since making his RB Leipzig debut in 2013. Only Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski (29) has netted more Bundesliga goals than Werner (25) this season.

His performances, and that relatively low price tag on his head has meant that wea have made the first move to try and get the little star to sign up, with reports suggesting he has agreed a £170,000-a-week deal to make the move to London.

The deal has not yet officially been confirmed yet, simply because of the flight restrictions due to the coronavirus outbreak, but it should be announced in the next couple of weeks.

But ahead of his proposed move to Stamford Bridge, Nagelsmann has come out and pretty much confirmed that his star man will be leaving the club, after he admitted that he does not expect to have the German striker in his side next season.

When asked about Werner’s future before RB Leipzig’s 2-0 win over Hoffenheim on Friday evening, Nagelsmann told DAZN: ‘I do not expect Timo to be here next season.’

Look, at the end of the day, he is welcome at the club and we are very happy that the Blues hierarchy have managed to complete this transfer deal, brilliant signing for the club.
