Havertz update, Dunk signs shock deal, Mbuyamba opens up, Chelsea in Sarr talks in icchelseanews roundup….
New Chelsea signing Xavier Mbuyamba, 18, has revealed he wants to force his way into the first team.
After months of speculation and rumours, we managed to convince Mbuyamba to turn down the likes of Napoli, Everton and even Arsenal this summer to make the move to Stamford Bridge after he left Barcelona.
He has signed a contract until 2023 and will go straight into the development squad before given the chance to shine in the First-team, but the former Barcelona starlet is keen on staying there too long and is already looking to break into the first team.
Former Maastricht starlet Mbuyamba said on the Chelsea website: “I’m a centre back, very comfortable with the ball, strong, also in the air, I like to play my duels.
“First of all I want to play a good season in the development squad, the team is already a very solid team, they won the league unbeaten
“I just want to be one of the important players in there, some goals, but I just love clean sheets
“If you look at where I came from, a small club in Holland, this is a big thing.”
Chelsea are reportedly in talks to sign Arsenal target Malang Sarr this summer window on a free transfer deal.
With Mikel Arteta seeking to improve a number of key areas of the pitch this summer transfer window, there has been alot of speculation in the media that he wants to spend some serious money to acquire the services of some new players.
And according to recent reports on Football.London, The Gunners hope to beat a number of Ligue 1 and Bundesliga to the signing of the 21-year-old, who left Nice at the end of his contract this summer.
However, it seems that we are now seeking to hijack any possible deal for the lad as it has been claimed on the SUN website that we have now opened talks to get the lad signed up, with reports a three-year contract offer could be on the table
Frank Lampard is looking to put together a squad that can challenge both Liverpool and Manchester City and knows that he needs to add a bit more depth to the squad, as he is short in some areas of the pitch.
Speaking of the possible signing, Sky Sports presenter Kaveh Solhekol tweeted: “Chelsea in talks to sign France U21 centre back Malang Sarr.
“He’s a free agent after his Nice contract ran out this summer.
“If Chelsea sign him they will send him out on loan.”
Bayer Leverkusen chief Rudi Voller insists there have been no developments in negotiations with Chelsea over the signing of Kai Havertz.
We have been heavily linked with a move to bring Kai Havertz to the Premier League for months now, but a deal has not been announced or confirmed just yet, despite the many reports that it has.
It is believed that an agreement with the player is in place, but the hierarchy are trying to negotiate that £90 million fee down a bit, with suggestions that we are only willing to pay close to £70 million.
But despite all the rumours and all the speculation suggesting that we are closing in on the signing of Havertz, Voller insists there have been no developments in negotiations with the club over the signing of the German star.
“There is nothing new in this regard, and we are still very relaxed about it,” Voller told German outlet Sport Buzzer.
“Of course we would be very happy if he stayed for another year.
“It is clear that the departure of such a player, despite the high transfer fee, always means a loss – see Leipzig and [Timo] Werner.”
It seems that Lewis Dunk will not be making a summer transfer move to Chelsea this window.
With the club seeking to improve the defence this summer, there has been alot of speculation in the media suggesting that we were keen on trying to complete a transfer deal for Dunk, who is regarded as one of the best central defenders in the premier League.
But just as quick as the rumours popped up, they have now been closed after The 28-year-old has ultimately decided to extend his stay on the South Coast, as he remains fully committed to Graham Potter’s project in the Premier League.
“I’m delighted to have signed a new contract,” Dunk told the club’s official website after the announcement on Friday. “The aim now is to build on a record Premier League season and help the club continue its recent progress over the next five years.”
Potter added on Dunk’s new deal: “We’re absolutely delighted that Lewis has made this long-term commitment to the club. It’s fantastic news for everyone: the club, the supporters, the team and myself.
“Since I came to the club he’s been a joy to work with and he’s a top player. We are very lucky to have him.
“I think his role as captain is one he’s grown into and one he will do better and better for the next few years.
“He leads by example on the pitch and he’s a good lad off it – a delight to work with.
“We’re all determined to push on next season and establish the club in the Premier League and I’m really pleased that Lewis will be with us on that journey.”
