Mbuyamba opens up after officially sealing summer move to Chelsea

New Chelsea signing Xavier Mbuyamba, 18, has revealed he wants to force his way into the first team.

After months of speculation and rumours, we managed to convince Mbuyamba to turn down the likes of Napoli, Everton and even Arsenal this summer to make the move to Stamford Bridge after he left Barcelona.

He has signed a contract until 2023 and will go straight into the development squad before given the chance to shine in the First-team, but the former Barcelona starlet is keen on staying there too long and is already looking to break into the first team.

Former Maastricht starlet Mbuyamba said on the Chelsea website: “I’m a centre back, very comfortable with the ball, strong, also in the air, I like to play my duels.

“First of all I want to play a good season in the development squad, the team is already a very solid team, they won the league unbeaten

“I just want to be one of the important players in there, some goals, but I just love clean sheets

“If you look at where I came from, a small club in Holland, this is a big thing.”

Not too many have seen the lad play but Barcelona were not happy that he decided to leave the club as they had big hopes for the lad, so we have snapped up a player that has huge potential in the game.

We are looking to see if he can break into the first team as the lad has the potential too.
