Martinez free to leave, Werner message sent, Giroud reveals why he signed, Lampard ready to spend in latest news…

Frank Lampard has opened up and confirmed that he is seeking to freshen up his Chelsea squad in the summer, with Kalidou Koulibaly linked.

There have been some reports in the media suggesting that we are planning for potential new signings in this coming transfer window, as they seek to improve the side.

It will mean that Frank Lampard will be able to delve into the clubs transfer kitty and add a few players to the squad that will add some experience, and quality in the right areas of the pitch, and one name that will be high up on the shopping list is that of Kouliably.

Koulibaly has been outstanding for Napoli over the past few seasons and his performances has attracted all sorts of interest from the games biggest clubs, but we reportedly lead the chase to try and get him signed up in the summer window

Now, amid the speculation linking the club with Koulibaly, Lampard has come out and stated that he is intending to freshen up the side and add a few additions to the side, which has got many fans excited about whom could be following Hakim Ziyech to the club in the summer.

“I’m certainly excited about the squad we’ve got, with the young players and if we can get a few additions for areas I feel we need,” he told Chelsea magazine.

“We didn’t bring in anyone in January, it didn’t work out to be right for us at the time, and last summer we couldn’t bring anyone in, so those windows are gone and we haven’t changed.”

Olivier Giroud has opened up and revealed just why he has decided to stay at Chelsea this season.

There was a lot of transfer speculation in the media over the past few months about the imminent departure of striker Giroud, who has become very unhappy in the  side this season after falling behind Tammy Abraham in the pecking order.

It seemed that he was all set to depart the club when his contract expired and his contract at the club run out, but we shocked many fans just a few days ago when they announced that Giroud had committed himself to another 12 months at the Bridge.

After coming close to moving away from the club in the January transfer window, he provides an insight into how things have changed and why he decided to stay.

He told the club website: ‘I was supposed to leave in the January transfer window because I wasn’t playing much and I needed more game time to make the France squad for Euro 2020.

‘I very nearly left the club but I really think that God wanted me to stay at Chelsea.

‘The manager told me that he couldn’t let me leave because he didn’t have anyone to replace me. Everyone knows what happened so I won’t go back over it but the coach spoke to me privately and told me that he’d give more games.

‘He kept his word and what then mattered to me was proving to him that he could count on me when I was called upon.’

Chelsea transfer target Lautaro Martinez will leave Inter Milan this summer if he pushes for a move, says former Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti.

It is no secret that Frank Lampard is keen to improve this side with some big time signings, and reports in the media have suggested he will indeed get the £200 million it will take to sign some top-class, big-time names players in the summer, with a striker on the list

Martinez has been in a rich vein of form this season, scoring 16 goals in all competitions and drawing interest from top European clubs, with reports Barcelona have identified Martinez and Neymar as their top priority summer signings.

But with over three years remaining on the 22-year-old’s current deal at Inter, the Serie A outfit can demand an astronomical fee for his services, and ahead of the summer transfer window, Moratti has come out and admitted that the striker will be allowed to leave the club in the summer window if he pushes for a move away from the Italian giants

“You can’t hold someone who has the idea of being somewhere else,” Moratti told Sportmediaset.

“That would put him in a position to remain involuntarily or, in any case with a different impulse, in the same place.”

RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann admits there is nothing more he can do to try and convince Timo Werner to stay, with Chelsea  keen.

We are reportedly seeking to improve their squads when the transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time and have been linked with a £68 million move to try and sign Werner

German striker Werner, who is rated as one of the hottest prospects in Europe, has recently indicated his desire to leave the Bundesliga, opening the door for us to make a possible move

Now amid the transfer speculation, boss Nagelsmann has come out and revealed that there is nothing else he can do to convince the 29-goal hitman to stay during the summer transfer window.

Nagelsmann said on the TalkSport website: “There is nothing we can do about it. He knows what he has in Leipzig and also what he has with me.

“I show him that — he gets many chances to develop himself.

“I don’t know if it will help him that much if I tell him every day.

“A player has to feel that he can get better. If he doesn’t feel that, it wouldn’t do any good if I kept on telling him to stay here.

Werner is a brilliant little striker that has a big future in the game and it will be very interesting to see just where he ends up, as we would love to have him in the squad.

Lets just hope that Lampard gets the financial backing to sign the type of players it will take to get us back challenging for all the major titles.

But in regards to Werner, i would be very unhappy if he did decide to join another Premier League club and not come here, very unhappy!
