Maresca told to sit down and talk with powerhouse about Chelsea

Tony Cascarino believes new Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca should sit down with Romelu Lukaku this summer to decide his future at the club.
There has been alot of transfer speculation in the media which has claimed that a few clubs from Saudi Arabia are very much interested in trying to get a deal done for the big man – and he would be open to the idea of a big money move there.
Cascarino told talkSPORT: ‘First thing I would say [is] this is on the new coach that’s coming in. If you’re going to sit down and you want him. . .because first of all you have to ask the question. You’ve got to say to Romelu Lukaku, ‘You’re back here, there’s [offers] on the table’… but you’re asking the question, ‘I want you to stay if you’re prepared and you want to stay at this football club and give it a go, because I think I can get a tune out of ya.’
If you ask the question and he says, ‘Nah I’d prefer to leave,’ then you haven’t got a discussion at all. You never want to take a player who thinks he’s doing you a favour being at your club. You want a player to say, ‘I want to play. I want to prove myself to the Chelsea fans’.
However – reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed that Lukaku is done at the club: ‘Lukaku had everything to be a world class striker for Chelsea – but he just couldnt handle the Premier League – it was the right decision to move back to Italy.
‘His time at CHELSEA is over and we fully expect him to stay in Italian football – if clubs are able to meet Chelsea’s massive asking price and his £300,000-a-week wages.
