It has again been claimed that Enzo Maresca has given the green light for Carney Chukwuemeka to leave CHELSEA in the January window after reports emerged suggesting that a few Italian clubs have already shown an interest.

The midfielder has endured an injury-laden time at the club since signing from Aston Villa, and he has only made one appearance for the Blues this season, a 14-minute cameo in their 5-0 win against League Two outfit Barrow.

Now it has been claimed that we are open to letting the midfielder leave the club in the summer, and Marcesa has given the green light over a possible transfer move to happen.

But there has mostly been interest in signing Chukwuemeka on loan, and Yahoo Sports understands that is also Milan’s preference as they look for low-cost options to bolster their midfield for this January.

Maresca recently said it was better for Carney Chukwuemeka to leave in the summer for first-team football: “I think Carney is a very good player,” Maresca speaking after his side’s 4-2 win against Brighton.

“But for the amount of players that we have, we decided at the beginning of the season that for him it was probably better to leave and go somewhere to prove himself playing 30-35 games than to be here and play less games.

“Then unfortunately it didn’t happen. He’s one of our players. He had some minutes the other day and today he was not involved. Hopefully, we can give him more minutes.”
