Here is the latest news and gossip from icchelseanews that we think you guys could have missed, as Enzo Maresca – Caleb Wiley and Alexander Isak all feature…..

Chelsea have contacted Newcastle United over a possible deal to sign striker Alexander Isak this summer, as the Blues still seek to sign another forward.

The Magpies talisman was fresh off an impressive season with 25 goals to his name, which certainly explained why his asking price was in the region of £115million. Arsenal were also linked to the Sweden international but any deal being done appeared close to impossible given the finances involved.

However, concerns around profit and sustainability rules for Newcastle saw a chaotic dash to sell players take place. Liverpool were offered the chance to sign Anthony Gordon for £75million with Joe Gomez heading in the opposite direction, however Brighton signing Yankuba Minteh for £30million took them to safety.

The Football. London website has claimed that the club have contacted Newcastle United about a possible deal for Isak – their star man – as the Blues look to get one more big deal done. but the Toon were firm over their stance and told the Blues board that the striker was not for sale.

Former Newcastle midfielder Chris Waddle recently claimed that Isak is an ‘ideal’ player for us- Speaking to BoyleSports, Waddle said: “For Newcastle to lose Isak would be a massive loss, he’s got better and better.

“I watched him in a friendly against Denmark before the tournament started and he kept getting round the defenders so easily, and with so much speed, so I can see why Chelsea are trying to get him out of Newcastle.

“He’s an ideal player for CHELSEA – he’s pacy and exciting – but if Newcastle lose him and replace him with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, they will be in trouble. He suffers so many injuries, so then you’re asking Callum Wilson to stay fit.
