Maresca drops Chelsea signing hint, Blues make £70M transfer decision, Maresca told to sign striker
Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation that we think you could have missed…
Though Randal Kolo Muani does look set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this January transfer window, it has been reported that CHELSEA are not currently interested according to L’Equipe.
We have a quality attack that is scoring goals on a weekly basis – but Nicolas Jackson is not good enough to score 30 goals a season, while Christopher Nkunku simply cannot stay fit for too long.
Muani has been a player that The club have been linked with for the past few transfer windows, they wanted the Frenchman before he made the decision to join PSG and have been keeping a very close eye on his situation over the past few years.
PSG know what players they want to help drive the club forward, and so far, Muani has been able to make the kind of impact that prompted PSG to make a big offer and take him to the club
A loan switch is the most likely deal for Kolo Muani but that could involve an obligation-to-buy clause being included which may explain why the Blues are not interested.
With Jadon Sancho, Joao Felix and Pedro Neto all coming in last summer as attackers, there is no obvious place for Kolo Muani in Enzo Maresca’s squad.
MARESCA TOLD SIGN STRIKER
Reporter Iomie Stanley has told CHELSEA that they need to add a new striker to the attack during the January transfer window, despite the good performances of Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer
Enzo Maresca has proven alot of people wrong already this season as the Blues are challenging for those Champions League places, and many feel that they can go on to challenge for that Premier League title.
Cole Palmer has 12 goals already this season and Nicolas Jackson has nine goals, but that has not stopped all the speculation and rumours in the media which have suggested that a new striker is wanted by Maresca.
Now, amid all the speculation and rumours, Stanley has opened up and encouraged his former club to make a move for a new striker – he said: ‘Chelsea have so many quality players, but they need a striker.
‘Christopher Nkunku looks like a player that would like to leave, Cole Palmer is brilliant but cant score every week, while Nicolas Jackson is a player that works hard, but is lacking that quality that will turn him into a 30 goals a season man.
‘Maresca will get the backing from the board to sign a new striker, but Chelsea need someone that is already proven that can bang in the goals on a weekly basis, not another project.’

I love the players that we have, but adding that 30 goals a season striker could really make a difference to an already classy attack
MARESCA DROPS TRANSFER HINT
Enzo Maresca suggested CHELSEA are looking for defensive reinforcements in January after Wesley Fofana was the latest player to pick up an injury that could keep him out for the rest of the season.
The 24-year-old joined the the club in 2022 but has struggled to stay fit – but this season he has become an integral apart of the Enzo Maresca side and has been playing pretty well throughout most of the season.
Fofana had started all 12 of the Premier League matches he has played in since the start of the season, completing the full 90 minutes on 10 occasions in that time frame.
Fofana could be out for the entire season with an injury much worse than they originally feared, and now the Italian boss admits that he may have to delve into that transfer kitty this January window and add to his side.
He said: ‘For sure, Wes is a huge loss. I don’t think this kind of injury can be compared to the rest. This one is muscle and previously he hasn’t had any muscle problems, so it’s completely different
“Probably with Wes (Fofana) and Benoit (Badiashile) injuries, we will see if something is going to happen [in the transfer market],”

If The club are going to buy some new defender, they need to make sure that it is one that is already proven and that can make an immediate impact, they need a leader at the back and this is a great opportunity for Marcesa to get a player that he actually wants.
