Ryan Giggs believes Manchester United can come to Stamford Bridge and get a result against Chelsea when the two sides meet this weekend.
United, who are under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, have had the worst start to a new season in over 30 years and are already out the Carabao Cup, struggling in the Champions League and have only won three out of their opening eight games.
The lads, under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri, have made a stunning start to the new season and are unbeaten in all competitions, playing some of the best football I have ever seen and looking like a side that is capable of destroying any team they come up against, we are looking like a dominant force.
But despite the fact United are playing terrible football, despite the fact Mourinho is heading for the chop and despite the fact they are looking more like the average joes than a title winning side, Giggs insists that United are capable of matching Mourinho’s former club at Stamford Bridge and believes a morale-boosting display could spur them on to greater success this season.
‘There’s lots being spoken about Manchester United and Jose Mourinho, but if you go back to the last game against Newcastle then them coming back like that you’d hope would give them massive confidence,’ Wales’ manager said in his Sky Sports column.
‘It’s the start of a massive period for them with Chelsea and Juventus coming up and also Manchester City not too far away, so they’ll need that confidence. This is the period that United need to be getting up for the games and I wouldn’t be surprised if they come through this period pretty well because they are capable of playing against and matching the good teams.
‘I was at the game against Newcastle and the visitors played really well in the first half and you sometimes get that. I played in games where you’re down 1-0 or 2-0 and you’re forced to go for it. With the attacking ability they’ve got they’ve always got a chance.’
Can United really get a result? here is what we think.
Mourinho plays boring football and has seemingly lost the dressing room at United, but the man is a brilliant tactician and knows how to get a result when it is needed so when he is in charge of a side then anything can happen, but we believe that will not be the case this weekend.
Eden Hazard is on fired both Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic are pulling the strings, so even though the defence is not as strong as it could be, we are superior all over the pitch and we believe it will be a comfortable win for Sarri to continue his great start to the new season.
3-1 win for the lads.
