Matt Maizga has admitted his delight after sealing a loan deal away from Chelsea to Reading until the end of the season.
The centre-back has struggled to make any sort of impact on Maurizio Sarri’s side this season and was desperate to get some regular first team action under his belt, and when Reading showed an interest, he snapped up a move quick

“It’s a very well-known club in the UK. I had a chat with my friend Danny Williams, who played here before, and he told me a bit about the club and their past.
“I have always kept track of the Championship because I have a lot of friends and former teammates who play in it.
“I have seen the position that we are in, but this is football and we’ve got to keep fighting and keep working.
“I know that there is a good team here already with a good manager and a new, exciting style to keep building on.
“I’m excited to be a part of it and help the team get what is most important and that is victories.

Maizga is not really getting the chance at Stamford Bridge so the move to Reading will be good for his confidence and game time, as he needs both to develop into a good professional.
It is a very smart move for the lad to make the move to Reading and it is a smart decision from the club to let him leave, so hopefully he can impress at Reading.
