Powerhouse has been told to join Chelsea this summer window
Joining CHELSEA would be a “great move” for Harry Maguire if he leaves Man United, according to pundit Frank McAvennie
After a very disappointing season in that Man United shirt last season – in which Maguire has fallen down the pecking order – the England International has now been dropped as Captain of the Red Devils.
That has led to all sorts of speculation surrounding the immediate future of Maguire – with claims in the media which have suggested that we are now very much interested in a potential deal for the defender, who is valued at £50 million.
Amid all the speculation and the rumours – the club have been told that the right offer for Maguire will see the United star make a move, as he does not want to be sitting on the bench.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
When asked if Maguire would get game time at Stamford Bridge, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I can tell you this – it depends what system they play.
“Chelsea is full on, they are an attacking team and they push on a bit like Celtic and Maguire does not have the pace to get back.
“It would be a great move for him if he could get that done. But he does not want to go somewhere he is not going to get a game, he does not want to be in the same position that he has been at United.
“Would Chelsea want him? I do not know. Pochettino wants them to push and close players down, I do not know if that is Maguire’s game.“
COULD CHELSEA REALLY SIGN MAGUIRE?
He is not a bad defender and hardly makes big mistakes – so it was very easy to see why they were linked with a transfer move.
But we dont see him making the move anytime soon
