Maresca reveals £50M star wanted Chelsea transfer deal to happen
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca says Noni Madueke made the decision to leave CHELSEA this summer window after the winger agreed to make the move across London and join Arsenal in a deal worth around £50 million.
After missing out on that Premier League title once again last season, Mikel Arteta has got the backing from the board this transfer window and added players to the side that could really make a difference next season.
It has been revealed in recent days that Maduake has agreed a five-year deal with Arsenal and that the club are expected to pay around the £50 million mark to secure the signing of Noni Maduake.
Asked for his reaction to the news after the winger decided to leave Chelsea – Maresca recently explained the 23-year-old has not been pushed out the door: “Noni is in contact with the new club and I guess he is going to be [announced] in the next hours,” Maresca said.
“Selling him to a rival? If players want to leave then it is difficult for the club and the manager.”
“Noni decided to leave. Nobody told Noni he had to leave. If he is happy, we are happy.”
IcChelseanews says…
It is mad that such a talented player is being allowed to leave the club, he was impressive last season – but that £50 million is alot of money and i am sure that the board knew they would not get a better offer for the lad.
I dont want to wish him the best because he is joining the enemy – so hopefully he flops there!
