Lukaku is ready to leave Chelsea, Tuchel addresses rumours and Lewandowski boost given in Chelsea roundup…

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has reacted to rumours of a bid from Saudi Arabia and has suggested he would rather the new owners are less controversial

On Monday, reports emerged suggesting Saudi Media Group had made a £2.7billion offer for Chelsea, but there has been alot of headlines suggesting that is a deal that the Premier League may not let happen

The Premier League faced a massive backlash when Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund were allowed to buy Newcastle United, with LGBTQ+ rights not recognised in the country and their human rights records under increasing scrutiny.

If the Saudi Arabia bid for the club is successful, Tuchel will undoubtedly face yet more political questions and while the German coach would prefer for that not to be the case, he suggested journalists should be directing their questions at the right kind of people

Asked if Saudi Arabian ownership would mean he needs to continue his role as a Chelsea ‘ambassador’ and result in more non-football questions, Tuchel replied: ‘Yeah, but before we discuss a new owner a new owner needs to arrive.

‘And a new owner needs to be approved and a new owner needs to be allowed to own the football club, and then we can discuss about it if it’s necessary to discuss about it.

‘But then again, maybe I’m not the right person because there is a process about how you become an owner in this league.

‘And, of course, like I said to you after the last game, everybody relies on the reliability of the process and on the values which are behind the decision and the permission to own a club and to run a club.

‘Did I have a choice [to become an ambassador for Chelsea]? No I did not have a choice to also take this role. Do I need it? No.

‘But listen, it’s more or less day-by-day. It’s like this in England that not a lot of people in general in sports are talking at a football club. It’s a structure that I really appreciate, we talk inside. Of course we have people who are in charge of different roles and different responsibilities.

‘But to the outside it’s more or less just me who talks. Was it always comfortable? No. But I think it’s necessary.

‘I don’t think too much about it. I try to be honest and I try to give you an insight and I try to provide you with information, but more or less still from a sporting side, and from a coach’s heart.

‘This is what I try and this is maybe what you can rely on. And I’m more than happy if things calm down and we can talk more about football – more than happy.’

Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano has opened up and suggested that long-term Chelsea target Robert Lewandowski is preparing to leave Bayern Munich

Lewandowski is one of Europe’s elite goalscorers and has unsurprisingly attracted interest from some of the continent’s biggest clubs over the past few seasons as he continues scoring goals for fun

The 32-year-old striker netted 41 league goals in the 2020/21 season for Bayern to break Gerd Muller’s Bundesliga record, which had stood for 49 years, but there has been alot of speculation regarding the players future

Lewandowski’s Allianz Arena contract runs until 2023. And club chiefs are hopeful he will stay and finish his career at the club, despite the fact that talks have not been opened for the striker

That had led to reports in the media that Chelsea were ready to make a move and try to bring him to the Premier League, as they need to add a new forward to that attack, that was before all the drama about Roman Abramovic hit the headlines

But amid all the takeover rumours surrounding Chelsea, Romano has opened up and claimed that a deal for Lewandowski may still be on the cards as he considers leaving the German outfit

He Tweeted: ‘New deal in the summer or Robert Lewandowski will be prepared to leave Bayern immediately, even if his current contract expires in 2023. 🔴 #Bayern

‘The situation has not changed and there are still no talks between club and agents. It’s up to Bayern, now.’

Look, Lewandowski is one of the best players in world football and easily the best striker on the planet, so even at this stage of his career, there are not many clubs that wouldnt like to add him to their squads.

We believe that he will not leave Bayern, but if he does, it will be very interesting to see where he ends up as his massive contract means that there are only a handful of clubs that will want to match his £400,000-a-week demands

Jamie Carragher has claimed that Romelu Lukaku could leave Chelsea this summer if things do not improve for him, as the powerful Belgian has struggled for goals this season

Lukaku was the massive summer signing for Chelsea last year and was supposed to make the club real contenders for that Premier League, but injuries and the inability to adapt to the style if play has seen many suggest that he could depart the club at the end of the season.

That has meant that Lukaku has had to endure more bench time than he would have liked and has even been replaced as the clubs main striker by German star Kai Havertz, who has been impressing in recent weeks

That has led to many reports in the media which have suggested that Lukaku would be open to leaving the club, of course that was before the club were banned from doing any transfer business, and Chelseawere open to letting him leave

Now Carragher has opened up and claimed that he believes Lukaku will depart the club if things do not improve, he was quoted: “If this situation continues with Havertz as the main striker, I don’t think you see Lukaku at the Chelsea next season…”

Lukaku has not been good enough this season, that has been easy to see. So even though fans are hoping that he comes good, it would not be a shock to see him depart the club at the end of the season

However, when a new owner comes in and starts to change things, there are certain players out there right now that would be seen as real statement signings, and getting Lukaku’s £250,000-a-week wages off the books, would be a very smart idea

But it will be interesting to see how this all plays out as there is alot of speculation about Chelsea right now
