Former striker Ally McCoist has told CHELSEA striker Romelu Lukaku to stay in Italy beyond the summer.

The man looks set to move away from Stamford Bridge in the current transfer window, having spent last season on loan at AS Roma, as the Blues are seemingly keen to cash in on the big Belgian star.

That has led to alot of transfer speculation in the media which has claimed that a few clubs from Saudi Arabia are very much interested in trying to get a deal done for the big man – and he would be open to the idea of a big money move there.

However – amid all the speculation – McCoist has opened up and told Lukaku that he should actually stay in Italy this summer window – claiming that he would struggle to make any sort of impact at one of the big Premier League clubs.

“I actually think Romelu Lukaku is probably better off staying in Italy. Because I don’t see, and I might be wrong, I don’t see Lukaku playing in the top four or five teams in the Premier League at this moment in time.,” McCoist told BoyleSports

“What’s happened to him recently is he’s had most of his success abroad, particularly in Italy and I just think he might be suited to that style of football.

“He might be suited to that kind of temperament, that kind of country and I just think that’s where he’ll continue to play.

“I don’t see him, I might be wrong and time will tell, but I just don’t see him coming back playing in the top flight any time soon in England.”
