RLC sends Hazard stay message as Brazilian announces Chelsea deal is signed and sealed

David Luiz expects to tie up a new Chelsea contract in the coming days.

Since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri last summer, he has been a constant fixture in the back-line and his performances have helped us regain Champions League football and reach the Europa League finals.

The Brazil defender’s current deal expires at the end of the season and there was some suggestions that he could leave, as all involved could not agree to the correct terms.

But now Luiz revealed he has signed a new contract with the club

Luiz said on the Sky Sports website: “I am so happy to be here and to have this opportunity to stay. I love this club and I still have the ambition of a young player,” Luiz said after penning his new deal.

“It means a lot to reach another European final, and we still have the opportunity to finish in the top three of the Premier League this season and I will continue to try to do my best to help the team.”

Meanwhile, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has admitted that they hope star man Eden Hazard stays.

There has been a lot of speculation about players that could arrive, and the imminent departure of Hazard, who has netted an impressive 26-gaols in all competitions for Chelsea this season.

Hazard is out of contract at the end of next season and is wanted by Real Madrid, a club he has dreamed of playing for since he was a child, and who is coached by his boyhood idol, French legend Zinedine Zidane.

But Loftus-Cheek has urged the club to do all they can to keep hold of the Belgian.

“I’m sure everyone here – and us players – would love him to stay and be a Chelsea player until he finishes his career,” Loftus-Cheek said on the Sky Sports website.

“But who knows what he’s thinking. Over the last seven, eight years he’s been fantastic – the trophies he has helped us win. Whatever decision he makes we will respect it.”
