Superstar officially tells Chelsea and his fans – he is leaving giants

Robert Lewandowski confirmed on Saturday that he will not renew his contract with Bayern Munich – opening the door to a Chelsea move

There has been reports in the media that a move for Lewandowski could well be on the cards for the club- especially after it emerged that he was open to leaving Bayern in the transfer window – and especially after it has been claimed that Thomas Tuchel is keen on a deal

But now they have been told by the player himself that he will not be signing a new contract with the Germans – and could leave in the summer if the right offer arrives for his services.

“I can confirm that I spoke to Hasan [Salihamidzic] and informed him that the decision was made… and that I am not extending my contract with FC Bayern,” Lewandowski explained to Sky on Saturday.

“Both sides have to think about the future. It’s best if we find the best solution for both sides”

“I said [Salihamidzic] that if an offer comes, then we have to think about it – also for the club. Both sides have to think about the future. That’s all I can say.”

This is massive news as Lewandowski is a player that never comes onto the market – he will guarantee you at least 30-goals a season – and that is what the club need

They will have to fend of interest from Barcelona – but if Chelsea are able to make a move for the player – they should guys as he would be that statement signing the rest of the Premier League are worried about

There are not many players like him on the market – this could be the man that brings back the Premier League title
