Here is the latest Chelsea news and gossip from icchelseanews that we think you guys may have missed –

John Obi-Mikel has demanded that CHELSEA sign a ‘top striker’ after slamming Nicolas Jackson’s performance against Manchester City at the weekend which showed that he is not ready to lead that Blues attack.

The club lost 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday thanks to goals from Erling Haaland and Mateo Kovacic, with new manager Enzo Maresca unable to get off to a winning start.

The club were largely second best to the Citizens but did create some good chances to score – but the finishing of Jackson was once again a let-down and something that needs to be sorted before the close of the transfer window.

Mikel was not impressed with the performance Jackson at the weekend and reiterated that his former club was lacking a world-class goal scorer: ‘We created chances, we haven’t taken them. And just an example of how Jackson finishes,’ the exasperated former midfielder said on beIN Sports.

‘You can see there, even though he was offside, he dribbles past one or two or three players and the way he shot the ball!

‘You need a striker who knows how to hit a ball back in the back of the net and that’s what we don’t have. I know I talk so much about him and sometimes I sound like I disrespect him. I don’t disrespect him.

‘I think at CHELSEA Football Club we need a top striker who can get us a goal. A bit like [Haaland], 91 goals [for City] that’s absolutely unbelievable.’

ISAK MESSAGE SENT –

CHELSEA should ‘break the bank’ to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak before the transfer deadline, according to reporter Iomie Stanley.

Alexander Isak has a price tag of £115 million and despite the fact that Newcastle have no intention of letting their star man leave – Stanley has said that Isak is the idea man to lead that attack – he is an upgrade on Nicolas Jackson.

‘Newcastle have done well to keep Alexander Isak at the club this summer window – they have managed to evade all the transfer rumours and keep the Swedish star happy enough to want to stay

‘If I was a CHELSEA, I’d be breaking the bank for Isak. If Chelsea got Isak, they’d be certainty for a top-four finish. They would certainly manage to score more goals on a weekly basis.

‘Nicolas Jackson managed to net 17 goals last season for the Blues, which is a decent amount for his first season – but he is a player that will probably miss alot more than he will score.

‘He has so many creative players behind him – but he showed in the game against Man City that when he is needed – he lets the side side – Isak will not do that.

There has been alot of transfer speculation about the future of Victor Osimhen – he is the man that Chelsea reportedly wants – but if Enzo Maresca wants a proven Premier League player, then Isak is the man.

‘However – that CHELSEA board will not want to spend a big amount of money on a proven player that will probably not be worth more than he is right now in a few seasons time – that is why he will not end up at the Blues.

‘That board would rather spend £161 million on players many fans cant even remember – then on big players that will make an immediate impact.’

CHELSEA FREE TO SIGN CHIESA –

Juventus manager Thiago Motta has reiterated that Federico Cheisa can leave the club this summer, which will open the door for CHELSEA to get a transfer deal done for the talented winger.

The club have suffered immensely in the flanks this term with Raheem Sterling underwhelming. Meanwhile, the North Londoners have heavily depended on Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in their wings.

The Euro 2020 winner is now seemingly on the market after Thiago Motta took over as Juventus boss and we are one of the clubs that have been linked with the attacker, along with Manchester United and West Ham

Motta, last month made it clear that the 26-year-old does not fit into his plans and is free to leave the club this summer, and now the boss has come out and again claimed that Chiesa is free to leave the club.

He said: “Our position on Federico Chiesa hasn’t changed. He’s not part of our plans.

“We’ve talked. It’s a demonstration of the respect I have for everyone. Transparency, clarity, that’s the way I communicate with my players.”

IcChelseanews View…

Chiesa is a quality winger that has played at the very highest level of the game – but we are sure that he will not end up at Stamford Bridge – he is far too old for the board.
