Board have made decision about letting £45 million rated Brazilian leave to join like of Chelsea
Leeds United plan to rebuff any overtures for star winger Raphinha, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool
Raphinha has been the best player for Leeds for the last few seasons, but he has really shown just how good he is this season, despite the poor results that the club have been picking up.
He has scored eight goals in the Premier League – twice as many as next top scorer Daniel James. He also has two assists to his name from 21 games in the English top-flight.
Leeds are hopeful of holding on to the Brazil international beyond his current contract, which expires in 2024, but IcChelseanews has learned that Raphinha wants to explore his options and is looking to hear what other clubs have to offer.
And that has led to many reports in the media suggesting that Chelsea are a club that are willing to make an offer in the transfer window, especially as Thomas Tuchel always wants to add some more quality to his squad.
But according to the Daily Mirror, Leeds have taken the decision to rebuff any offers for their star man in the the summer as they have no intention of letting him leave, and will hold him to the contract that he has recently signed
Raphinha recently insisted he is not distracted by the enormous speculation surrounding his future or the question marks over his contract situation at Leeds.
‘I’ve got a contract until 2024, my head is totally here and focused on Leeds,’ the Brazilian told BBC Radio Leeds.
‘As for contractual matters, I leave them to my agent and my dad.
‘I just focus on playing my football and making the Leeds fans happy, scoring goals, providing assists and getting victories for the team.
‘Contractual matters are for my agent, my focus is on making people happy with my football and doing as best as I can for Leeds.’
