Frank Leboeuf has backed Chelsea’s proposed move for Jules Kounde, with the club reportedly close to a transfer deal
Kounde has racked up 89 appearances across all competitions for Sevilla over the past two years, earning a Europe League winners’ medal and a place in the France national team in the process
His performances for the Spanish side over the past few seasons has led to alot of speculation in the media that we see him as an ideal player to come in and improve that back line.
Recent reports have claimed that personal terms have been agreed and Kounde is keen on a move to the Bridge, but the only thing that is holding up an announcement is the asking price, as the board do not want to pay £68 million for the player
Now, amid the rumours, Leboeuf has come out and claimed the 22-year-old would be a valuable addition to Thomas Tuchel’s ranks at Stamford Bridge, but has also suggested that he won’t just walk straight into the Blues’ starting XI if he joins the club this summer.
“He’s (Kounde) a fantastic player,” the former Chelsea centre-back has told ESPN. “He has everything. He is a warrior. He never gives up. He has everything. He is the future for sure.
“Maybe it’s an opportunity for Chelsea to get him maybe not this season, but next season.
“I don’t know what Kounde wants to do in his life, if he’s ready to be on the bench more than he thinks he will be. It’s up to him. It would be a good signing for Chelsea.”
We are massive fans of Kounde and cant wait to see him sign guys
