Frank Lebeouf has opened up and claimed that Mike Maignan would be welcome at CHELSEA, but the club do not need to prioritise adding a new goalkeeper to the side.

Winning a trophy and getting Champions League football last season is more than what many people had planned for Chelsea and Enzo Maresca, but the Italian boss really has done a great job at the club.

But there have been many reports in the media that we are looking to improve a number of areas in the squad and adding a new stopper to the side is something that will reportedly help us really win that Premier League title.

Robert Sanchez has been a massive part of that side this season – but he is not seen as a man that is good enough to play for one of the big Premier League clubs and has really struggled to impress.

That has led to alot of speculation in the media that we will once again delve into that transfer kitty and add a new goalkeeper to the side, and Maignon is a man that has been linked with a move to London for a while.

And amid the speculation, Leboeuf has said that he is an admirer of ‘exceptional’ Maignan but believes his former club should prioritise a move for an experienced centre-back over a new shot-stopper.

‘I love Mike and think the guy is so exceptional and would fit perfectly at Chelsea,’ he added.

‘But if CHELSEA are going to make an exception in their transfers they should get a new Thiago Silva, that would be better than an experienced goalkeeper.

‘That would be my decision. But if they decide to go for Mike, that’s a good decision as he is the real deal. He would be very useful to Chelsea.’
