Barca President reveals if brilliant Spaniard is joining Chelsea

Barcelona President Joan Laporta has claimed that CHELSEA linked Gavi will not be leaving the club at the end of the season.

The club were the busiest sides in the January window, having splashed the cash to sign David Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos, Benoit Badiashile, Joao Felix and Mykhaylo Mudryk as former boss Graham Potter looked to strengthen his squad for the second phase of the season.

But the summer transfer window will give the club an opportunity to add a few more players to the side – and that has led to reports that the exciting Gavi is a player that the new boss now wants.

The Argentine is said to have “very clear” plans to rebuild the squad, and wants to start by bringing in Gavi, who he “really likes”, although it will not be easy to orchestrate a transfer.

The 18-year-old has no intention of leaving Barca, despite the fact he is currently on a youth contract, with his proposed contract renewal being rejected by La Liga due to the club’s financial issues.

However – Laporta has opened up and claimed that Gavi will not be leaving the club at the end of the season – Laporta said: “I am sure that Gavi will continue to be a Barça player. I don’t worry about that, no issue and no problem”. according to Journalist Fabrizio Romano

Gavi was never going to come to London and we were shocked to even see him linked with a move away from the Camp Nou in the summer.
