Lampard opens up and announces he wants Chelsea deal to happen
Frank Lampard is desperate to be part of Chelsea’s exciting future and has told the club that he is looking to sign a new contract.
Lampard was installed as boss last season after making a real impact at Derby, and in his first season, he managed to reach the FA Cup final and get this side back into the top four spots.
A transfer market that saw the club splash over £250 million on new players now means that we are one of the favourites to challenge for that Premier League title, especially as we now sit top of the Premier League after an impressive 3-1 win at the weekend.
However, Lampard is out of contract in 18 months time and there has been a bit of speculation that the board are holding off handing the legend a new contract until the end of the season, to see if he is able to achieve all his targets.
But amid the speculation, Lampard has opened up and told the club that he is hoping to sign a new contract and lead this very exciting squad for many seasons to come, Lampard said on the SUN: “In terms of my contract, it seems to have flown by, the time I’ve been here.
“Now I feel like I would love to be part of the long-term plan here.
“The signings we made in the summer, other than probably Thiago Silva particularly, were signings for now and the future.
“Players that are going to progress and who will mature, and, of course, I would love to be part of that.”
He deserves to stay and hopefully he will get a new contract
