Lamps told possible signing Chilwell is one of the best left-backs in the game
Chelsea target Ben Chilwell is one of the best three left-backs in the world , according to Liverpool ace Andy Robertson.
We have been heavily linked with a transfer move to try and acquire the services of Chilwell this summer, as Frank Lampard seeks to improve his back-line and add a bit more quality to the side.
recent reports have suggested that we are on the verge of paying a massive £80 million to secure a deal for Chilwell, which will be a world record, despite many people feeling that he is not worth that kind of money just yet.
And amid all the speculation, Robertson has opened up and claimed that Chilwell is one of the best left-backs in the game: “I think Alphonso Davies, already world-class but he can only get better,” the Reds defender told BT Sport.
“Don’t expect me to be doing that [Davies’ assist vs Barcelona] any time in a hurry.
“That was just incredible. It probably took five or six of them out of the game with one passage of play.
“Phenomenal player, somebody I enjoy watching and I think the whole world’s enjoying watching him at the minute and I’m not different.
“Ben Chilwell I love watching in the Premier League.
“Then I would say Jordi Alba, the more experienced one of the three I would say, maybe coming near the end of his career, but what a career he’s had.
“Him and Marcelo probably took left-backs to a whole new level.”
He is one of the best, but he is not worth £80 million guys and the club would be very foolish to fork out that much money, when there are other alternatives out there that could be signed for a fraction of the price, and that are proven at the highest level of the game.
