Lamps reacts to Rice rumours, Fans told Havertz like Cruyff and New signing SIlva makes Lampard claim in icchelseanews roundup..
Chelsea’s Kai Havertz has been compared to the legendary Johan Cruyff by Ralf Rangnick.
Havertz ended months of transfer speculation in the media when he finally agreed to sign a five-year contract worth over £300,000-a-week to sign with the club, after we finally managed to agree a £71 million transfer fee with Bayer Leverkusen.
The young German has featured in every game for the club this season, and managed to secure his first hat-trick for us in the Carabao Cup in midweek, which has got many people expecting many more goals this season from the young man.
Now, The ex-RB Leipzig coach and sporting director believes we have done great business by bringing Havertz in from the German side this summer, and has been compared to the legendary Johan Cruyff
He told Sky Sports: “I have no doubts whatsoever that he will become a sustainable success and that he will become one of the top players in the next two or three years.
“Maybe, he will need a couple of weeks to get adjusted because he has a fantastic family background – I know that because I was also trying to convince him to join us at Leipzig but he was completely dedicated to Bayer Leverkusen.
“He’s one of those players where I don’t see any weaknesses in his game. He’s the type of modern Johan Cruyff – he can score goals and he can provide assists.”
Thiago Silva revealed Frank Lampard was the driving force behind his move to Chelsea this summer.
After many successful seasons with PSG, Silva opted against signing a new contract with the French giants towards the back end of last season, and decided that now was the right time to leave and seek a fresh challenge in the game.
That led to the club showing a real interest in getting a transfer deal done, and after a few weeks of talks, it had been decided that Stamford Bridge would be the mans last big transfer move.
He made his debut in midweek against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup, and looked very impressive, but has revealed that if it was not for Frank Lampard being at the Bridge, he probably would have not signed for the club
He told BBC Sport’s Football Focus: “For me it’s a source of great pride to be part of his project.
“If it wasn’t for him, if he didn’t believe in me, I wouldn’t be here.
“I certainly feel privileged to be a part of a new family, and to be coached by one of the best players in the world.”
Frank Lampard has reacted to the reports which have claimed that Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Declan Rice.
We have been very active in the transfer window this summer and The signing of Rennes goalkeeper Mendy for £20million has taken the clubs summer spending past £220m, as they seek to regain that Premier League and Champions League title.
Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr have all joined the club in a hectic transfer window that keeps giving fans more excitement, and it is expected that Rice could be the final signing of the summer.
Rice has become one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League and the latest reports have suggested that he has already agreed personal terms with the us, with the two clubs in contact about a transfer fee.
But while Lampard refused to speak on England star Rice he also would not declare his recruitment drive to be at an end, Asked if Mendy will be the last arrival in this transfer window, Lampard on the SUN website: “I honestly don’t have answers to the speculation of ins or outs going forward.”
When quizzed on West Ham midfielder Rice, Lampard continued: “Again they are rumours, I can’t talk about these things, but when players are ours it’s not my position to speculate on what may be, and it’s the same on the other side from players from other clubs. And I’ll continue that way.”
Look, it has been a very exciting summer for fans to see and if they manage to secure a transfer deal for the brilliant Rice, then it will add a bit more quality to the side.
