Silva eyes contract, Lamps gets Haaland and Sancho boost, Rio makes Lampard claim and Silva reveals Chelsea message in icchelseanews roundup….
Borussia Dortmund are in danger of losing the likes of Chelsea targets Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland if they don’t start winning trophies, warns Jan Aage Fjortoft.
Both Haaland and Sancho are regarded as two of the finest talents in the game right now and have been tipped to become two of the best players on the planet, as both have been impressing over at Dortmund.
Now we have been given a boost after Fjortoft claimed that Dortmund are in danger of losing the pair, He told ESPN: “Viv Anderson said to me, ‘but Jan, it’s quite easy, young kids want to win trophies – that’s why they’re in the game.’
“One day they will go away, meet each other now at international break and they will say ‘you’re a good team, you have good talent, how many trophies have you got?’
“I think that is the danger with Dortmund, now having the best Norwegian, the best American, the two best English, although Sancho is not at the moment unfortunately.
“That is the main challenge for Dortmund, how long can they keep these young kids without winning trophies and the culture needs to be built up.
“It’s also typical that Bayern [have] got that culture at the moment because they have that winning mentality in there.”
Thiago Silva says his early Premier League appearances have left him with headaches, but he is looking to earn a contract extension at Chelsea.
Silva has been signed to add some much needed leadership to the side, while also adding that quality at the back that Lampard has been missing, and so far, he has been a massive surprise in the Premier League and has made this squad alot more solid.
But despite making a very good start to life at the club, Silva has opened up and revealed that his early Premier League appearances have left him with headaches: “They are three very different football schools,” he told GOAL. “I have had a great learning experience in Italy, one of the best schools for the back line and defensive phase.
“I also had great companions in my early days like [Paolo] Maldini and [Alessandro] Nesta, with whom I played for two years, so I was able to learn a lot from them.
“The French championship is a little more physical, stronger and now PSG has a dominance over the opponents and we had to risk a little more.
“And now in the English championship, the last two games I ended up with a lot of headaches because there are aerial plays at all times and, with a very high pace of play, it is very different from the other two leagues.
“I have learned from all that and I put it into practice to help the younger players.”

And Ferdinand has opened up and revealed just what Lampard told him about his new signing, Talking on his YouTube channel, FIVE and also reported in the Metro, he said: “He [Ziyech] was one of the signings that went a bit under the radar because he had an injury.
“I spoke to Frank [Lampard] just after he signed and he picked up his injury and he was majorly disappointed.
“He said: “Rio this guy is the guy that can unlock things. If it’s tight in a game he’s the one especially away from home in the big games he can unlock things”.
“He has the personality, he wants to try things. He can give it away six times on the bounce but he’ll still try that outlandish pass to create an opening. That’s what Frank likes and that’s what the team needed.”
Thiago Silva has revealed that Frank Lampard sent him a picture of them shaking hands as players before his move to Chelsea this summer.
Despite coming towards the back-end of his top-level playing days, we opted to make a move for the Brazilian in the transfer window after he decided to leave PSG and seek one more big challenge in the game.
Silva has been signed to add some much needed leadership to the side, while also adding that quality at the back that Lampard has been missing, and ow the Brazilian has opened up and claimed Lampard sent him a picture of them shaking hands as players before his move to the club this summer, and the defender says it is a ‘source of pride’ to link up with Lampard at Chelsea: When I was about to sign with Chelsea, when I said ok, he sent me a message with a photo of us shaking hands as captains at the Maracana, in the friendly between Brazil and England,’ he told the Metro
‘It was a big surprise for me, because I didn’t remember that game. ‘I certainly didn’t hesitate to be coached by him. I’m happy that he enjoyed my work so much, I hope to do it in the best possible way to help Chelsea.
‘It is a source of pride to be coached by a player I played against and was one of the greatest midfielders in the world. ‘For me, it is very joyful to share dressing rooms, exchange ideas, and look to help in every way.’
Look, we were worried about the age of Silva and whether or not he would be able to handle the Premier League, but at the end of the day, we should have never doubted the man.
