Gary Neville believes Frank Lampard has already decided to sell Chelsea midfielder Jorginho this summer.
In the early months of the Premier League season, Jorginho become a main-stay in the side and an invaluable member, but then the coronavirus stopped football from being played.
And since then, the midfielder has barley featured for the club, with Lampard even opting to start Scottish teenager Billy Gilmour in the game against Crystal Palace during the Tuesday night game, despite the midfielders dip in form.
Now, Pundit Neville suggests this was further evidence that Lampard is ready to offload Jorginho.
‘You have to think that he [Jorginho] is being managed out of Stamford Bridge,’ Manchester United legend Neville told Sky Sports.
‘I think it’s been clear from the moment Frank Lampard came in that he wants to build a young and hungry squad.
‘Look at the way David Luiz was let go. With the way Jorginho has been dealt with, it’s quite clear where Lampard wants to take the team.
‘When you think of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp over the last few years, they don’t veer away from the plan for any player. ‘Frank Lampard has got a clear plan.’
Lampard is a world class player that was brilliant for us in the early stages of the season, but we dont know the thinking of Lampard about the midfielder and he may have felt that he is in not the right shape to start games.
If he does not want Jorginho in the side, then fair enough, we trust the gaffer and believe that he knows what he is doing.
