Frank Lampard believes his Chelsea kids can challenge for the Premier League title in the future.

Despite not spending any money in the last two transfer windows, welooked dead set to finish inside the Champions League places before the Coronavirus struck and stopped the football from being played on a weekly basis.

It is partly down to the exciting talent that is coming through the ranks, as the likes of Tammy Abraham, Reece James, Fikayo Tomoir, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Billy Gilmour, have all had a huge part to play in the start to the season, and will have a huge part to play in that push to dominate English football.

Now Lampard has opened up and admitted that he fully believes that this young side can go on to challenge for that Premier League title, he was quoted on the SUN: “I don’t want to jump the gun because what Liverpool and Manchester City have done in the last two or three seasons is very clear.

“I think I would be a bit of a fool to make a claim we could bridge that gap very quickly.

“There has been a lot of hard work at those clubs in terms of recruitment of top players, of great coaches and of players working to improve themselves.

“Now we have good young players and experienced players who have helped them this year. With potentially bringing in some players in key areas we think could help us bridge that gap, I have a strong belief we can challenge for titles in the future.”

There is some great talent coming through and it is easy to see just why we are getting excited, we just hope that we are able to challenge again because we need to be!
