Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic has dropped a massive hint that he wants to sig a permanent deal to stay with Chelsea.
Despite all the transfer speculation that he wanted to leave Madrid on a permanent deal to get more regular game time, Kovacic looked all set to stay at the Bernabeu as Madrid put a crazy high asking price on his head.
But then Thibaut Courtois forced through a move to Real on transfer deadline day and we had the chance to sign Kovacic on a try-before-they buy kind of deal, which Sarri snapped up as quick as he could.
And now Kovacic has hinted that he would like to stay on at Stamford Bridge on a permanent deal, but has claimed it is not the right time to talk about a deal, he was quoted on the TME website: “It’s too early for these questions, I am here and very happy.
“Playing regularly is good, I’m a little bit tired. I was not used to playing every three or four games and here it is very tough football. You can’t relax against anybody so it’s a little bit difficult but I really enjoy it.
“We have a great team, great fans and the city is nice. I like it a lot here”.
Does Kovacic deserve a permanent move to Stamford Bridge?
Kovacic has been a terrific signing for the club and it was a smart move by the club to sign Kovacic on a season long-loan, so we can decide whether or not he would be good enough to offer a five-year deal.
And although there is still a lot of games to go between now and when he heads back to Madrid, he is clearly a talent and we would love to see him sign a nice big contract to stay at the club for the foreseeable future, as the partnership next to Jorginho and N’Golo Kante is really working.
