Kounde and Raphinha claim made, star ‘learning English’ ahead of Chelsea move, Tuchel on Christensen
Araujo is reportedly learning English, Kounde and Raphinha claim made and Tuhel opens up on Christensen in Chelsea roundup…
Fabrizio Romano has opened up and claimed that Chelsea were working on deals to sign both Raphina and Jules Kounde in the summer window
After the war broke out in Ukraine just a few weeks ago, there was alot of pressure on Roman Abramovic to sell the club after his ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin caused all sorts of headlines
Eventually the Russian did put the club on the market and there has been alot of speculation about who will be taking over the club in the next couple of months, with a number of billionaires interested in a deal
However, before that all happened, Romano has claimed that Chelsea were closing in on the signings of Kounde and Raphina, two players that the club have been keen on for some time
With a number of defenders leaving the club at the end of the season, Kounde is seen as the ideal player to come in and replace those stars, with his performances earning him the reputation of one of the best in Europe.
Raphinha is a man that has been impressing in the Premier League this season, and with all the problems that we have had scoring goals this season, Thomas Tuchel is reportedly keen to add the Brazilian to the squad.
The news comes after Property developer and Chelsea fan Nick Candy has confirmed his interest in putting together a consortium to buy the club.
“Mr Candy is actively exploring a number of options for a potential bid for Chelsea,” a spokesperson for Candy said. “Any bid would be made in conjunction with another party and we have serious interest from several international partners.
“Mr Candy has a huge affinity with Chelsea. He has been watching matches at Stamford Bridge since the age of four. The club deserves a world-class stadium and infrastructure and Mr Candy’s unique expertise and background in real estate would be a hugely valuable asset to delivering this vision.”
The club are one of the biggest clubs in the world right now, so whomever takes over the club will need to keep on investing in order to keep them as one of the best
Thomas Tuchel admits he’s ‘not happy’ with Andreas Christensen after the Chelsea defender intimated that he will not be signing a new deal
The Danish defender has been given a chance to shine under the guidance of the German boss and has been impressive at times this season, but he has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past few months
He has been in constant talks with Chelsea about signing a new deal at the club, with his current contract expiring at the end of the season, but as the club were unable to get a deal done, Barcelona have swooped in
It is believed that Christensen has agreed a move to join Barcelona at the end of the season, and Tuchel admits he’s ‘not happy’ that the defender appears likely to exit.
Asked about Christensen’s future, Tuchel said: ‘Well it’s in doubt, no?’
‘We hear the rumours and the situation with Andreas is also since many weeks clear and we are not happy about it because I personally and club representatives we think that it’s best for him to stay and we rely heavily on him.
‘He has not signed yet and you cannot not communicate [laughs]. This is also a signal to us and communication from his side is that he did not sign until now so we have to consider the possibility that he leaves us.
‘Will we like it? No. Will we live with it? Yes. Things are not personal. Never, never personal. But yeah, this can happen. I have no further information. No information at all.’
Tuchel says he will continue to select the Dane as long as he maintains the required professionalism expected at the club.
Asked whether he would consider dropping Christensen because of his move, Tuchel said: ‘I don’t think so because like I said if things happen then I try and normally it’s the best thing not to take it personally.
‘If things like this happen then he’s still our player and we will do what’s best for us. He’s a Chelsea player. He knows we appreciate him a lot. It’s a crucial point of his Chelsea career. It’s a crucial point in the perfect age in the perfect moment, the system that we play, the guys that play by his side…considering all these circumstances for me it’s the decisive moment for him to step up and be a huge Chelsea player for the next years.
‘If he decides otherwise I will not take it personally. It’s in the end not important whether I understand it or not, I will treat him as my player until the very last day if he behaves how he behaves here.’
Barcelona star Ronaldo Araujo has begun taking English lessons amid apparent interest from Premier League giants Chelsea.
With a number of defenders potentially leaving the club at the end of the season, Thomas Tuchel needs to make sure that he brings in the right quality that will fill the boots of the likes of Antonio Rudiger and Cesare Azpilicueta.
Thomas Tuchel has a number of possible players that he would like to bring to the club over the next couple of transfer windows, and that list will keep getting bigger over the course of the season
The defender has a contract until June 2023, but renewal talks haven’t been going well, with Araujo’s representatives believing that Barca’s current offers don’t reflect the player’s status in the squad.
And Reports on SPORT have claimed that Araujo is now planning for life in the Premier League by taking up English lessons ahead of a possible move to Chelsea, or any club that are interested.
The report adds that Barcelona are struggling to agree a new contract for Araujo, leading to increased speculation that he could be heading to England.
Araujo is a very gifted player that has the ability to make a real impact at the club, so the fact that the Blues could land him on a bargain deal in the summer, could be a great bit of business by the club
So it will be interesting to see where he will end up as there are a number of clubs that have been keen and that already opened talks to get some kind of transfer deal done
But considering we have the money to fend off most clubs in the game right now, clubs will have a hard time beating Chelsea to the signing, if they shore up that interest and make an official move
